Art Post and I started with something every salesperson recognizes: a deal you did everything right on can still get pulled upstairs to corporate and disappear into somebody else’s purchasing process.
Then we got into what The Cricket Continuum has been building around robotics. The interesting part now is everything surrounding the machine: configuration, proposals, training, service costs, contracts, DCA/r, billing, financing and fleet support.
Kevin Fry joined us and took the conversation into Epson. Their work combining inkjet technology with robotic motion caught my attention because print and robotics are starting to occupy the same conversation. Kevin also shared a great firsthand story about the precision of an Epson robotic arm he saw in action.
Somewhere along the way we made it to drones supporting remote medical care, Sharp entering the Ai server business, how quickly original ideas get absorbed and recombined, and why Eddie Van Halen's sound was partly born from messing around with electronics.
